Well, this will give the tinfoil-hatters something to argue about for years...
Gary Webb was found found suicided in his home on Friday December 10th, 2004. For those of you who don't know, Gary Webb was the San Jose Mercury reporter who brought us a series of stories as well as a subsequent book relating to the CIA's involvement in drug trafficing.
Charlene Fassa has started right in and rightfully pointed out some suspicous circumstances in CIA Drug Running Investigative reporter Gary Webb ’Suicide’ Looking more like Murder
"The way I see it we have at least 4 smoking guns:
1. Two shots to the head
2. Gary had received alleged death threats and had complained of recent break-ins by government agents
3. Allegedly Gary was involved in working on a new story about the CIA and drug trafficking.
4. Gary threatened to systemically expose the drug war for the Trojan Horse that it is, thereby provoking the wrath of the Elites and the CIA. He would not be intimidated. He kept on doing what he did so well, and what he loved so much: investigative journalism."
Even though the Sacramento Bee published a press release from the coroner's office confirming that Webb died from two gunshots, almost every other article I read on the subject only mentions a single gunshot. Odd.
Michael Ruppert found a few more suspicous facts on his call to the coronor's office, including the claim that it was a single gunshot wound.
In Was Gary Webb ’Suicided’ To Kill New Book? Charlene Fassa suggests there was more, yet unreleased, evidence he had against the CIA that he was using as the basis of a new book.
Al Giordano of NarcoNews has an insider perspective as he was a friend of Webb's. His story does offer significant evidence indicating that Webb really have killed himself, though the article is very emotional. How hard is it to kill an Authentic Journalist or a revolutionary? "Gain his and her trust, and then pull the trigger of deception: Make him and her doubt his and her own prowess as a truth-detector. Remind him and her that they are freaks of nature: truth-tellers in a world of liars, and that you are so smart – aren’t you cute and proud of yourself? - that you alone were able to deceive him and her."
